Chunky Cinnamon Apples

Ingredients
  

  • 4 medium apples
  • 4 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp ginger
  • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp margarine
  • ½ c water
  • ¼ c raisins (optional)
  • ¼ c walnuts (optional)
  • 2 tsp lemon juice (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Peel, core, and dice apples.
    4 medium apples
  • Add apples and water to a pan over medium heat. Cook until the mix starts to bubble.
    ½ c water
  • Reduce heat and add brown sugar and spices, stirring occasionally.
    4 tbsp brown sugar, 1 ½ tsp cinnamon, ½ tsp ginger, ½ tsp nutmeg
  • Add margarine and continue to cook until the apples are tender.
    1 tbsp margarine
  • Add any additional mix-ins.
    ¼ c raisins, 2 tsp lemon juice, ¼ c walnuts
  • Let cool slightly. Can be served warm or cold.
