Lone Star Texas Cake

Ingredients
  

Cake Ingredients

  • 2 c flour
  • 2 c sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 c water
  • 1 c margarine
  • 4 tbsp cocoa
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ c milk
  • 1 tsp baking soda

Chocolate Icing

  • ½ cup margarine
  • 4 tbsp cocoa
  • 5 tbsp milk
  • 3½ c powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Instructions
 

Cake Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350℉ (175℃).
  • Combine flour, sugar, and salt in a bowl.
    2 c flour, 2 c sugar, 1 tsp salt
  • Melt margarine and mix with water.
    1 c water, 1 c margarine
  • Combine margarine and dry ingredient mixes.
  • Add in cocoa, eggs, milk, and baking soda and mix.
    4 tbsp cocoa, 2 eggs, ½ c milk, 1 tsp baking soda
  • Grease a cake pan and bake batter for 15-20 minutes.

Icing Instructions

  • Melt margarine and add to a bowl.
    ½ cup margarine
  • Add in cocoa and milk and mix.
    4 tbsp cocoa, 5 tbsp milk
  • Slowly add powdered sugar and vanilla, mixing well.
    3½ c powdered sugar, 1 tsp vanilla
  • Frost the cake while still warm.
